Kevin Owens: Oh Shane! Your sarcastic tone is already starting to piss me off. I rarely ever want to come here and talk to you, but in this situation, I have no choice.

Kevin Owens: I saw the announcement on Twitter about a Universal Championship tournament.
Shane McMahon: Yes... Is that what you've come to talk about?
Kevin Owens: Why yes of course. I've come to ask you... Well actually, I've come to TELL you that I'm going to be one of the competitors in the tournament.
*Shane smirks at Kevin*
Shane McMahon: Correct me if I'm wrong Kevin, but aren't you already a Champion here on Smackdown Live? You cannot hold more than title, so that means you can't enter in the tournament as Champion.
*Kevin looks at Shane in sadness*
Kevin Owens: Are you... Are you serious?
Shane McMahon: I'm serious Kevin.
Kevin Owens: No... No! You can't say that! I've beaten everybody! AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambro...

Shane McMahon: First of all, you don't need to remind me of what you've done here, okay? You make that pretty clear every time you hold a microphone. Second of all, Smackdown Live is suppose to be the land of opportunity. So by that logic, I have to give each and every Superstar on the roster a fair shot. Me giving you a slot in that tournament wouldn't be fair as you are already Intercontinental Champion.
Kevin Owens: *Laughs in disgust* You really do make me sick, y'know that? I've defended and fought everyone whilst holding this title and the one time I ask for something in return, you spit in my face. Why is it that I get all the disrespect around here? You treat a superstar like AJ Styles as if he's your own son, while you treat me like crap.
Shane McMahon: I'm sorry you feel that way Kevin, but good luck in your title defence this Sunday against Roman Reigns. A "GUY", no pun intended, that you haven't beat.
