Championship Ladders
So you are placed on Championship ladders based on a few factors
- The superstar you currently have is better suited to compete for a particular championship
- Your weight class allows you to compete for this particular championship.
- The history your star has with his/her title
So MOST superstars/players will be placed on 2 ladders in their respective divisions. Their are some exceptions where your superstar is really only supposed to compete for a certain tier of championship. If you have a top tier superstar, there’s a good chance you won’t be able to compete for a Mid-Card championship.
When you become a champion and you’re on multiple ladders, you will be reduced down to 1 ladder until you lose that title.
Title shots
Your performance is evaluated by the general manger of the show/ladder in question. They will be looking at several factors.
Wins & Losses: This is pretty straight forward, you need to get some wins in order to be a champion
Promo Rating: Your promos will play a huge role in your title shots. You will be rated between Poor, Good & Excellent. GM’s will be constantly updating this attribute.
# of title shots: We can’t keep giving the same people opportunities if they keep coming up short. So if you’re doing well but keep failing at title shots, you might not get a title shot again for some time.
Champion's Responsibilities
So you’ve won a championship, that’s great!
Now comes the hard part, keeping it! Here is what the expectations of being a champion mean.
Ability to Defend
A champion must be able to defend his championship at least once per cycle. Typically you only have to defend once, but there are exceptions. If you have to go on an extended break from the league or can’t defend during a mandatory defense week, then you will be stripped of the championship.
United States & Intercontinental Open Challenge
This is in reference to the WWE division, if you hold either of these titles. You can expect that on a random week between cycles you will have to defend you title against someone who decides to step up. You will have to defend against someone the GM team picks via the best promo for that week.
Rematch Clauses & Ladder Exile
Qualifying for a rematch
A champion will qualify for a rematch clause once they have successfully defended their championship at least one.
When can I get my rematch?
Following the loss of the championship the GM will typically ask the now former champion if they would like to exercise their right to rematch. If for whatever reason they decline, the GM will just keep them out of that title picture for some time.
If they decide to use it, The GM will then decide if they want this rematch to happen immediately after the week of the defense or stretch the feud out to the PPV week.
Limitations on Rematches
If you win your championship back with a rematch clause, and then lose it again, regardless of how many times you’ve defended it. You will not get a rematch clause.
Furthermore, you will be kept away from that title picture for at least a 6 week period. You will continue to be graded by GM’s however, don’t expect a title shot for some time.
Champion’s Benefit
At the end of each major season, the superstar selection is reset for everyone. Except for champions, typically we start a new major season when a new game comes out.
So as champion, as long as your superstar is in the next game you have 1 of 2 options.
Option 1: You can keep your superstar & carry the title over.
Option 2: You can drop your championship and select a new superstar that’s free. (GM picks will have to be decided first)
If another champion in that same show wants to do the same. The priority for selecting the star will go to the main title holder, then the mid card champion, followed by the cross branded champion.
If you’re a champion and your superstar isn’t in the new game you will have no choice but to switch superstars before others. You WILL be able to carry over the title as well.
History & Prestige
Regardless of how long and great your title reign is, or short and forgettable. The GM team keeps track of the history of the title. No matter what your fate is in RSTR, you will remain a part of our history. History for each title is available by either clicking on them on the home page or in their appointed sections on the forum.
